Breaking Down Disappointing 'Hard Knocks' Season Finale on Jets Country Podcast
It wasn't exactly a grand finale.
HBO's "Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the New York Jets" came to a close on Tuesday night with the season's fifth, and last, episode which left multiple important questions unanswered.
Of course, the biggest unknown is where's Vito Contento? The senior equipment manager appeared at the beginning of Episode 1 only to never be seen again.
If they were expecting a full 60 minutes of content, then viewers ended the night in disappointment. Episode 5 was over in 44 minutes and the closing scene didn't come close to achieving legendary status like HBO's classics "The Sopranos" and "Six Feet Under."
The final episode did feature a handful of insightful segments, including a visit inside the Abanikanda household. Rookie running back Israel Abanikanda, the Brooklyn-born son of Nigerian immigrants, is a living example of the American Dream.
The look-ins on Joe Douglas's Cutdown Day conversations with Jason Brownlee and Xavier Gipson also made for compelling television.
Here's the complete "Hard Knocks" Episode 5 breakdown with co-host Amanda Shinn on the Jets Country Podcast.
