GREEN BAY, Wis. – According to ESPN.com’s Jeremy Fowler, the New York Jets have “inquired” about the availability of Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Paired with an NFL Network report that the Packers are “willing to consider” trading Rodgers, Green Bay’s 2023 Super Bowl championship odds took an immediate hit.

The Packers were +2500 at FanDuel Sportsbook on Friday. Even immediately after the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night, the Packers remained +2500. By Monday morning, though, the Packers’ Super Bowl championship odds had lengthened to +3100 at FanDuel.

In the updated odds, the Chiefs are the early favorite at +600, with the Buffalo Bills (+850), Eagles (+900), San Francisco 49ers (+900) and Cincinnati Bengals (+900) rounding out the top five.

The presumptive top suitors for Rodgers are the Jets, who are +2500, and Las Vegas Raiders, who are +4000.

In the NFC North, the surging Detroit Lions are +2500, the defending division champion Minnesota Vikings are +4000 and the perennially rebuilding Chicago Bears are +6500.

At SI Sportsbook, the Chiefs were the favorites at +600. The Packers at +2800 had the 12th-shortest odds.

At DraftKings, the 49ers were the favorites to win the NFC at +350, followed by the Eagles (+400), Cowboys (+600), Packers (+1100) and Lions (+1100).

As of Monday morning, all sportsbooks had taken down their next-team odds for Rodgers. Those closed on Saturday with the Raiders being the betting favorite, followed by the Packers and Jets. In team-centric odds, Rodgers was the betting favorite to be the starter for the Jets and Raiders.

The only Rodgers bet that was available on Monday was at PointsBet, where Rodgers was a narrow favorite over Jimmy Garoppolo to be the Jets’ starter.

The Jets’ interest in Rodgers has been obvious for weeks. Team owner Woody Johnson and coach Robert Saleh have spoken openly about the team’s desire to add a veteran quarterback to propel a strong overall roster.

“We are going to look for an experienced quarterback to come in and help us and help develop these other young players,” Johnson told ESPN.com’s Dianna Russini at NFL Honors.

“You want the best quarterback that you can get to lead the Jets. I think with a good quarterback and our great defense – and the defense will be a lot better with a quarterback that’s actually doing it – it’s plug and play. If a quarterback comes in, it’s kind of an ideal situation.”

The Jets hired Nathaniel Hackett as offensive coordinator. With Hackett in Green Bay, the Packers reached NFC title games in 2019 and 2020 and Rodgers won MVPs in 2020 and 2021.

“Hack has been a really important part of our culture change and a part of our success on offense,” Rodgers said in 2020. “I love him. Hope he doesn’t go anywhere. Unless I do.”
