Patriots' Matthew Judon Criticizes Cowboys' Micah Parsons For Fickle Fashion: 'Fraud'!
On the field, Dallas Cowboys star defender Micah Parsons has enough moves to make him "the man." But in his closet, he apparently has enough jerseys to make him "that guy."
As in, "that guy" whose unlimited budget and flexible loyalties move him to break sports' unwritten rule of wearing the jersey of any team on any given night depending on his mood and location. In response to Parsons' fickle fandom, one of the most ferocious players in the NFL is being criticized - by a member of the New England Patriots, no less - as "bandwagon", a "groupie" and even a "fraud."
A little more than a week after attending Game 4 of the Boston Celtics-Philadelphia 76ers playoff game wearing a Tyrese Maxey jersey in Philly, Parsons on Wednesday night showed up at TD Garden for Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals and rocked a No. 0 Jayson Tatum jersey.
Celtics fans - and Patriots' pass-rusher Matthew Judon - were in a surly mood because of their team's upset loss. It was compounded by Parsons, who drew their ire for switching "loyalties."
Said Judon on Twitter:
This man worse then drake. Bandwagon
Judon took his playful - we think? - criticism a step further, calling Parsons a "fraud."
Deuce should of beat yo ass fo shaking his pops hand like that. Then asking him for a jersey. "It’s a fraud inside my city ya."
Parsons, who angered Cowboys fans last February for openly rooting for the rival Eagles in the Super Bowl, initially explained wearing the Maxey jersey on the fact that the Sixers guard hails from Texas (South Garland High School). But in a pre-game exchange with Tatum, the pass-rusher that often refers to himself as the "Lion" appeared to be nothing more than a Zebra attempting to changing his stripes.
After Tatum playfully called him out for wearing a Sixers jersey just a week ago, Parsons blamed that outfit choice on "Rubin" ... likely Fanatics sports fashion chairman Michael Rubin. But then Parsons giddily responded, "I'm with you tonight!" before asking for a Celtics jersey.
Parsons, who is from Pennsylvania, is being ruthlessly roasted on social media, with fans doubling down on Judon's "bandwagon" label by calling the Cowboys' star "cringey" and even a "groupie."
Both Parsons and Judon are elite pass-rushers and Pro Bowl players who respect each other's games. But if Parsons shows up for Game 3 of the series in Miami wearing a Heat jersey ...
Maybe he's already learned his loyalty lesson?
Unfortunately for Patriots fans, Parsons will be wearing his familiar No. 11 jersey and likely terrorizing quarterback Mac Jones when the Patriots visit the Cowboys Oct. 1 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.
Pats head coach Bill Belichick also attended the game - not in a jersey - and sat with Celtics' president Brad Stevens.
