WATCH: Patriots' Legend Brady Beats 40-Yard Dash From 2000
Father Time, they say, will always be undefeated. Tom Brady will likely lose as well, but he is at least pushing the old man into overtime.
These days the New England Patriots are figuring out if Mac Jones is worth salvaging or if a trade for quarterback is in the cards or perhaps which rookie to pick at No. 3 in April's NFL Draft. Meanwhile, in a new ad for his NOBULL sports apparel, the Patriots' legend is reminding Pats fans of what they already know they're missing.
Apparently Brady runs faster in 2024 than he did in 2000.
Says Brady in the video posted to his social media, "I'm faster at age 46 than I was at age 22."
In 2000 Brady ran a 5.28 40-yard dash as the NFL Scouting Combine. He was drafted by the Patriots in the sixth round and went on to become pro football's all-time winningest quarterback with seven Super Bowls.
He won six in Foxboro before playing his final game for Bill Belichick in 2020 at age 42. He won another ring in Tampa and retired after the 2022 season at 45.
With the Patriots in a nosedive since his departure, Brady's every football(ish) move has prompted "comeback?!" headlines. Though he's now a part-owner of the Las Vegas Raiders and this season beginning his new career as Fox's lead TV analyst, this video won't serve to dent that irrational enthusiasm.
Brady, whose TB12 company recently merged with NOBULL, runs a 40 timed by two separate hand-held devices: 5.18, 5.12.

"Next year," Brady says, "it's going to be even faster."
Keep loose, Father Time.
