'1 of 1!': Jalen Ramsey Thinks Rams DT Aaron Donald Was Snubbed For Madden 24 Cover

Miami Dolphins cornerback Jalen Ramsey shares his perspective on whether Los Angeles Rams defensive lineman Aaron Donald was snubbed for the Madden 24 cover.
In this story:

Since 2011, only one defensive player has been featured on Madden's cover. The honor was bestowed upon All-Pro cornerback Richard Sherman, who appeared on the front of "Madden 15" following his Super Bowl XLVIII victory with the Seattle Seahawks.

Current Miami Dolphins and former Los Angeles Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey has consistently expressed his admiration for Rams defensive lineman Aaron Donald, often referring to him as the greatest defender in NFL history. Once again, on Twitter Friday afternoon, Ramsey reiterated this view and further suggested that Donald should have been featured on the cover of Madden "long ago."

Ramsey's statement was not intended to criticize Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, the current cover athlete for this year's Madden game. However, Ramsey's assertion about Donald deserving a place on the cover is valid, considering the infrequency with which defensive players are featured on the game's cover.

The ideal opportunity for Donald to be featured on the cover of Madden would have been last year. However, EA made the understandable decision to pay tribute to the late John Madden by featuring him as the cover star. Donald had an exceptional 2021 season and won his first Super Bowl with the Rams.

While Ramsey believes that Donald deserves the recognition and the opportunity to grace the cover of the esteemed Madden video game franchise, it won't be this year for Donald. However, there is still hope that someday in the future, Donald will receive the acknowledgment Ramsey believes he deserves and earn his place on the coveted Madden cover.
