Where Do Los Angeles Rams Land in Latest NFL Power Rankings?
It has been a rough few weeks for the Los Angeles Rams.
For starters, the team has dropped three games in a row, including a 20-3 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. The Rams have also been without quarterback Matthew Stafford for a game and a half due to a UCL sprain in his throwing thumb. So, with all of this in mind, where does L.A. land in the latest NFL power rankings from Sports Illustrated?
Los Angeles, sitting with a record of 3-6 on the year comes in at No. 27 following Week 9's action, and you can read an excerpt from the SI piece below.
The Rams are now 3–6, headlined by its construction of disparate parts. They have one of the greatest defensive players of all time, but a relatively tame defense around him. They have receivers capable of playing as tight ends and putting the team in 13 personnel, but no quarterback (at least for the moment) to get it there. The Rams of the future are going to be bright. Just not right now.
So, that's good and bad news for Rams fans. On one hand, yes, your quarterback is injured and the roster in L.A. doesn't seem to "mesh" as of yet. On the other, the future does, in fact, appear to be bright for the Rams, even if the present isn't that enjoyable.
The Rams' last win came on Oct. 15 against the Arizona Cardinals, a division foe. If you believe in trends, perhaps Los Angeles can jump back into the win column this week because it will once again face a team from the NFC West, albeit not the Cardinals.
L.A. is set to face the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, and the Seahawks, coming off a loss to the Baltimore Ravens, sit at 5-3 on the year. According to ESPN's FPI projections, the Rams have a 57.9 percent chance of winning this Sunday's game at home.
Kickoff is set for 1:25 p.m. PT, and the game will be televised on CBS.
