Los Angeles Rams WR Demarcus Robinson Robbed at Gunpoint: $100K of Jewelry Stolen
Los Angeles Rams receiver Demarcus Robinson was armed at gunpoint in L.A. on Friday morning, law enforcement sources told TMZ Sports.
Two armed men approached Robinson outside a L.A. hotel just after midnight demanded he hand over his valuables. Robinson complied, which reportedly cost him over $100,000 in jewelry including a luxury watch, and the thieves fled. Thankfully, Robinson is apparently "doing OK despite the circumstances."
Officers say they have launched an investigation into the incident, but no arrests have been made as of Saturday morning.
This incident is the latest chapter in an eventful week off the field for the Rams. Early Monday morning, cornerback Derion Kendrick was arrested in L.A. after officers found a gun in his car during a routine traffic stop. Kendrick missed most of this week's practices, but is reportedly expected to play against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.
A 2016 fourth-round pick out of Florida, Robinson is in his first season with the Rams but has appeared on just 17 offensive snaps in five games. Instead, he's primarily been a special teams player in the games he has played.
The 29-year-old spent the first six years of his career with the Kansas City Chiefs, even winning Super Bowl 54 with the club. He then signed with the Las Vegas Raiders in March 2022, but was released in August of that same year before even playing a snap for the team. He instead spent last season with the Baltimore Ravens and finished second on the team with 458 receiving yards.
Now in his ninth NFL season, Robinson has 193 career receptions for 2,137 yards and 16 touchdowns.
It is not yet known if the robbery will affect Robinson's status for Sunday's game.
