Ravens vs. Eagles GAMEDAY Preview: Rookie Zay Flowers Debuts?
The wait is finally over Baltimore Ravens fans. The Ravens host the Philadelphia Eagles for the first of their three preseason games on Saturday night.
While established starters like quarterback Lamar Jackson will not see any action versus the Eagles, it will still be exciting to see players on the roster bubble competing for a spot and rookies will also make their NFL debuts.
Preseason games rarely give starters any playing time, but luckily for football fans, Ravens coach John Harbaugh mentioned that there is a "possibility" that Baltimore's first-round pick, Zay Flowers, will get to see the field when Philadelphia comes to M&T Bank Stadium.
The Ravens are trying to find a balance between giving Flowers game reps ahead of Week 1 while also keeping him healthy, as he is slated to have a large role in Baltimore's new offense.
Fans should also get a good look at second-year tight end Charlie Kolar, who only appeared in one game as a rookie after having sports hernia surgery. At running back, undrafted rookies Keaton Mitchell and Owen Wright should receive the bulk of the carries.
To add some excitement to a meaningless preseason game, Baltimore now has won an NFL record 23 straight preseason games. The Ravens last lost a preseason game on Sept. 3, 2015. Can they keep the streak intact?
Here's a look at everything you need to know ahead of Saturday's game...
