Ravens, Cowboys Among Teams Showing Interest In Signing Free-Agent WR Odell Beckham, Jr.
The Odell Beckham Jr. sweepstakes are in full effect as the free-agent wide receiver is gaining interest from a number of NFL teams. According to theScore, the Baltimore Ravens and Kansas City Chiefs have joined a list of teams that already include the Dallas Cowboys who are considering signing Beckham Jr. for at least the 2023 season.
Beckham Jr., however, would like multiple years with his new team, per reports.
Baltimore is a team that has been noted as being a good fit for the veteran receiver, as the Ravens currently have Rashod Bateman, Devin Duvernay and James Porsche under contract.
Veteran wideouts Sammy Watkins and Demarcus Robinson are also available on the open free-agent market for teams to consider, but Beckham Jr. offers the best resume of any available pass catchers.
The Ravens have been attempting to upgrade at the receiver position for a couple of seasons, with little luck. Currently embroiled in a very public negotiation with quarterback Lamar Jackson, who seeks a long-term, multi-year guaranteed contract, Baltimore would have a bit more bargaining power with a receiver like Beckham Jr. under contract.
Jackson and the Ravens are currently at an impasse after the club placed the non-exclusive franchise tag on the 2019 MVP earlier this month.
Beckham Jr., who has played for the New York Giants, Cleveland Browns and Los Angeles Rams during his nine-year career, missed the entire 2022 season as he continued to rehab from an ACL tear suffered during Super Bowl LVI.
