Baltimore Ravens Have 'Made Strides' Ahead of Arizona Cardinals Matchup

The Baltimore Ravens are coming off a stellar win over the Detroit Lions but now face the one-win Arizona Cardinals, and John Harbaugh isn't worried about a potential letdown from his team.

The Baltimore Ravens and Detroit Lions matchup was billed as a "see where you are" game, and the Ravens showed they are to be taken seriously in the AFC and as a potential Super Bowl contender.

But what can happen after such a big game is a physical and emotional letdown when facing a team considered "less than" them in the Arizona Cardinals.

Despite their 1-6 record, Arizona has been plucky as they've only been blown out once (biggest loss, 35-16 to the San Francisco 49ers).

But will John Harbaugh take it upon himself to get his team up for the game as a defense against a potential letdown?

"I shouldn't have to," Harbaugh said. "All you have to do is watch the tape, and you see how physical they are, how tough they are, how competitive they are as a team.

"If we have anybody on our team that doesn't understand how the NFL works, I'd be really disappointed. That's something that would really be disappointing. And I don't think I'm going to be disappointed that way."

The Ravens have won three of their last four games, and against the Lions, Todd Monken's offense devastatingly came to life.

Now sitting at 5-2 and with room to grow, many are crowning the Ravens already after their efforts against Detroit.

But for quarterback Lamar Jackson, he wasn't getting carried away with the win.

“I mean when we when we doing we supposed to what we supposed to do, I always say the skies is the limit for us, and we just showed a glimpse,” Jackson said. “I'm all right with winning but still regular season you know, and we made strides for improvement from last week and early on in the season, I believe, but it's just one regular season game.”

Harbaugh has previously stated that the NFL is a week-to-week league, and that was on show over the course of the last few weeks as the top contenders lost.

With Harbaugh confident in his team's ability to not get complacent and Jackson knowing that one game doesn't define a season, don't expect there to be a letdown against the Cardinals.

But this is the NFL, so never say never.
