The Baltimore Ravens offseason couldn't have done more to give quarterback Lamar Jackson a better chance at having a successful season. After securing him to a long-term deal, Jackson now has a more pass-orientated offensive coordinator in Todd Monken and has three new receivers in Odell Beckham Jr., free agent Nelson Agholor and draftee Zay Flowers.

Add those names to tight end Mark Andrews, the returning running backs Rashod Bateman and Devin Duvernay, and suddenly, Baltimore is loaded on offense. So much so that former Philadelphia Eagles linebacker-turned-analyst Emmanuel Acho thinks Lamar is finally out of excuses this upcoming season.

‘Lamar’s out of excuses,” Acho said on FS1. “In my mind, he’s gotten everything he wanted. New OC? You got it, Todd Monken. Help at wide receiver? You got it, Odell Beckham Jr., Nelson Agholor, Zay Flowers. Tight end All-Pro, quarterbacks best friend? You got it, Mark Andrews. Running game that leaves no questions, Ravens have one of the best running games [in] the last four, five years. What else could he need? No more excuses, not in my eyes, at least.”

Is Acho right? For some, Jackson has the best collection of offensive talent he has had since entering the league in 2018. That, coupled with an offensive coordinator who has given him the keys to allow him to do what he does best, sure makes it feel that way.

Since Jackson came into the league, he has a regular season record of 45-16, but when it comes to the postseason, his record is 1-3. What's more, since 2018, the Ravens haven't gotten past the Divisional Round of the playoffs.

Granted, Jackson himself has only played in the postseason three times (his last appearance was in 2020), but now he has a chance to take advantage of the wealth of options at his disposal.

Is Jackson out of excuses in Baltimore? Acho isn't saying he has to win a Super Bowl, but improving on his 1-3 playoff record feels like what needs to be done with this collection of talent.
