Ravens' Lamar Jackson 'Fastest In The League!'
Baltimore Ravens star quarterback Lamar Jackson was heralded as the "fastest" at his position by new teammate Jadeveon Clowney.
"I'm just glad I ain't gotta chase the guy no more," Clowney said. "I got a year off from chasing the quickest, fastest quarterback in the league which is great."
Jackson is best known for his running prowess, which amplifies his MVP-caliber passing abilities. In five seasons, he has 4,437 rushing yards and 24 rushing touchdowns.
While he never ran the 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine, Jackson reached 20.48 miles per hour on a 79-yard touchdown run during a 42-38 loss to the Miami Dolphins in 2022. Not only is he talked about as one of the fastest quarterbacks in the league, he is also included in conversations for fastest player.
During his MVP campaign in 2019, Jackson rushed for 1,207 yards and seven touchdowns. Although he led the NFL in passing touchdowns with 36, it was his spectacular season on the ground that helped him to become the first unanimous AP NFL MVP since Tom Brady did it in 2010.
Clowney is the Ravens newest addition this offseason, as they have made a concerted effort to surround Jackson with winning talent after he signed a new five-year, $260 million contract. Clowney joined Baltimore on a one-year, $2.5 million deal that could rise to $6 million through incentives.
