NFL Peers Vote Ravens QB Lamar Jackson Top 10 QB

Where does Jackson rank among QBs in the eyes of his NFL peers?

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson can be a hot topic, depending on who you are talking to. According to NFL executives, coaches, scouts and players (arguably the most-educated opinions), Jackson is a top-10 quarterback in the league.

In a poll of the NFL's top signal-callers by ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the two-time Pro Bowler ranked as 7th best entering this season after being an honorable mention selection last year. Jackson was ranked as high as No. 4 in the poll and some voters left him out of their top 10 altogether.

Jackson's best season came in 2019 when he was the unanimous MVP and the Ravens finished with the best record in franchise history at 14-2.

Heading into his sixth NFL campaign at age 26, Jackson has arguably the best talent around him yet. Baltimore signed veteran wideouts Odell Beckham Jr. and Nelson Agholor in free agency and drafted receiver Zay Flowers in the first round of this year's NFL Draft. With new offensive coordinator Todd Monken calling the plays, Jackson has joked that he may throw for 6,000 yards.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes topped the poll as the league's best quarterback. Last season, Mahomes won his second regular season MVP, his second Super Bowl MVP and his second Lombardi Trophy. Expectations remain high for the reigning Super Bowl champion Chiefs, who are favorites to again win the title.

Last season, Jackson played only 12 games because of a knee injury and Baltimore was 8-4 in those games. Can he stay healthy and the team come together to reach their ultimate goal? With Jackson under center, optimism is high.
