'Miss My Folks!’ Ravens Ex Marcus Peters Shares Desire To Return
More than two months have passed since the start of free agency, yet former Baltimore Ravens cornerback Marcus Peters is still looking for a new deal.
Peters has had a very accomplished career to this point, with three Pro Bowls, two first-team All-Pros and a Defensive Rookie of the Year Award under his belt. However, the fact that he is already 30 and has suffered multiple recent injuries is likely what's scaring teams away. Even with those concerns, the veteran corner still has something left in the tank and could still be valuable to a team.
For Peters, though, it seems he would prefer to stay put if he can. Commenting on Lamar Jackson's recent Instagram post regarding the start of OTAs, Peters said he misses being out there alongside his Ravens teammates.
"Miss my folks," Peters wrote with a crying emoji.
Peters came to Baltimore in 2019 thanks to a midseason trade with the Los Angeles Rams, and he's been a key piece of the secondary ever since. In 10 games with the Ravens in 2019, he posted 39 tackles, 10 passes defended and three interceptions to earn a first-team All-Pro selection. He then followed that up with another solid showing in 2020, posting 52 tackles, nine passes defended and four interceptions.
Unfortunately for Peters, he tore his ACL just before the 2021 season and missed the entire campaign. While not bad upon his return in 2022, it was probably his worst season in Baltimore with 47 tackle, six passes defended and one interception.
While Baltimore hasn't re-signed Peters yet, head coach John Harbaugh says the door is still open for him to return. The Ravens could still use some extra help in the secondary, and if Peters takes a discount to stick around, perhaps he could be the answer.
