Baltimore Ravens LB Patrick Queen Details Fight With Joe Burrow At LSU
Even before Patrick Queen and Joe Burrow became AFC North rivals, they were already getting into it at practice when they were college teammates at LSU.
Queen and Burrow were on the LSU team that went 15-0, won the national championship in 2020 and is hailed as one of the greatest teams in college football history. But before Burrow and Queen were guiding LSU to one of the greatest college teams of all time, they had to deal with each other in a sweltering summer practice in Louisiana.
NFL Mock Draft: Ravens Add Top WR Again?
On Marlon Humphrey's podcast, the Punch Line Podcast With Marlon Humphrey, Queen detailed the fight between him and Burrow, saying that he won, even though head coach Ed Orgeron lied about it, saying that his quarterback came out on top.
"It was at the point where we knew we were going to be so cold," Queen said. "They was lighting us up play after play, [and] then we started getting stops. [It] got heated, hot summer day in Louisiana, we all know that. We just started blitzing to get Joe off the spot. A couple of us hit him a couple of times, I hit him one more time, and one thing led to another, and next thing you know, we're on the sideline, I got him in a headlock [and] he's punching me in my ribs."
Along with Queen and Burrow, Bengals receiver Ja'Marr Chase, Jacksonville Jaguars Minnesota Vikings receiver Justin Jefferson, Jacksonville Jaguars outside linebacker K'Laon Chaisson and Kansas City Chiefs running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire were all taken in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. In total, that LSU team had 14 players drafted, which was tied for the most taken from a single school in NFL history before Georgia broke the record in 2022 with 15 players getting drafted.
"We have the best college football team of all time," Queen said. "There's no debate."
Now, Queen and Burrow have been opposite sides of one of the best rivalries in the NFL since they were drafted in 2020. They'll meet for the second time this season when the Ravens (7-3) host the Bengals (5-4) on Thursday Night Football at M&T Bank Stadium at 8:15 p.m. ET.
