Ravens Kevin Zeitler Reportedly Wants New Contract Prior to 2023 Season

Ravens right guard Kevin Zeitler reported to minicamp after missing voluntary OTAs, and reports are that he would like a new contract.

The Baltimore Ravens were stuck in a nasty and very public mess of a negotiation with quarterback Lamar Jackson for the better part of a year and a half. The sides finally came to an agreement on the day of the NFL Draft to keep Jackson here for the long term.

And now the team could be drawn into another contract negotiation situation with running back J.K. Dobbins. Dobbins missed mandatory minicamp, and reports were that he would like a new contract.

But Dobbins isn't the only Ravens player who would like a new deal. Ravens right guard Kevin Zeitler reported to minicamp after missing voluntary OTAs, and reports are that Zeitler, too, would like a new contract.

In the last year of his current deal, Zeitler would engage in any contract discussions with reporters at the team facility on Thursday. But he did make one thing very clear: He has no intentions of retiring as he enters his 12th NFL season, and he's like to remain with the Ravens organization until that day comes.

“When you’re in a place this good, you’d love to finish out your career here. I have no intention of stopping anytime soon,” Zeitler said, via the team’s website. “Not coming to OTAs for the first time kind of made it really clear [that] I still need this game, I love this game and I want to play this game. I have no intention of stopping anytime soon. When I’m here with my teammates, I owe it to them to work hard every day and do whatever we can to try to get this team a Super Bowl.”

As the Ravens prepare for the upcoming season where they're expected to contend for the AFC North title, there are questions regarding the future of the roster that need addressing. And the Jackson contract was just the beginning.
