'His Moves Are Wild!' Baltimore Rookie Zay Flowers Impresses In Loss

The Ravens selected Flowers in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft and he is already making jaw-dropping plays.
In this story:

During the Ravens' 29-28 loss to the Commanders on Monday at FedEx Field, Baltimore Ravens rookie wide receiver Zay Flowers showed why he was drafted in the first round of April's NFL Draft.

"His moves are wild," quarterback Josh Johnson said. "It's like that every day. It automatically injects life into the whole team just to see him go out there and unleash his special talent. I'm excited for the young fella."

Flowers caught just two passes in the game but still managed to steal the show. He caught a pass in the flat from Johnson and proceeded to carve up the entire Commanders' defense for a 26-yard touchdown

He finished the game with 37 yards on two catches and a touchdown. It hasn't just been in the preseason that Flowers has been impressing., as he was turning heads at training camp and joint practices too

Baltimore drafted Flowers with the No. 22 overall pick out of Boston College to be a part of a revamped receiving group around MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson. A group that now includes Odell Beckham Jr., Mark Andrews and Rashod Bateman.

If Flowers' time with the Ravens is anything like his time with Boston College, he will be a fan favorite for sure. He finished as the all-time program leader in touchdown receptions, receptions, and receiving yards as well as setting single-season records for touchdown receptions and receptions.

"Zay is different man," Johnson said. "So just to see him do what y'all see every day, be able to get the ball in his hands early, he's gonna be a very exciting player."

Baltimore will have one more preseason game on Saturday at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at 7 p.m.
