Ravens Ex Shannon Sharpe Signs Deal with Colin Cowherd
Former Ravens tight end and Pro Football Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe has made quite the name for himself in the televised sports media realm. In July, he closed one chapter of his television career, as he officially said goodbye to Fox Sports 1's Undisputed and his former co-host, Skip Bayless.
Recently, it was reported he would be joining forces - at least on a part-time basis - with Stephen A. Smith over at ESPN for Monday and Tuesday appearances on First Take. And it looks like Sharpe has been busy promoting himself aside from that deal, as it's now reported that he's joining forces with Colin Cowherd in the podcast arena.
On Wednesday, Sharpe announced via social media that his Club Shay Shay podcast will be moving to The Volume, a digital podcast network founded by Cowherd.
The Volume has become a hotbed for current and ex-professional athletes to host their podcasts, as it currently boasts pods hosted by Draymond Green and Richard Sherman. Sharpe started his Club Shay Shay podcast while he was still with Fox Sports back in 2020.
When he bolted from the network earlier this year, he took it with him, and it's been doing well as an independent entity. Sharpe has 15 million views a month on YouTube and 1.5 million subscribers.
Per Hollywood Reporter, Sharpe and Cowherd negotiated a multi-year deal that allows Sharpe to keep a piece of the revenue he generates for his own pod as well as others he contributes to.
