Lamar Jackson Trade or New Ravens Contract? 'I Wish I Was QB's Agent!' - Drew Rosenhaus

"I wish I was the agent for Lamar Jackson because I'm confident I could get a deal worked out for him,'' says Drew Rosenhaus of the Ravens stalemate.
In this story:

Long-time NFL agent Drew Rosenhaus has never been shy about tooting his own horn. But at the same time, to his credit, he's also never been shy about getting massive contracts for high-profile clients.

And he'd like a word with Lamar Jackson, who is serving as his own agent and getting nowhere with the Baltimore Ravens.

"I wish I was the agent for Lamar Jackson because I'm confident I could get a deal worked out for him,'' Rosenhaus said on "the Pat McAfee Show.'' "There's ways to get deals done and I'm confident I could get a deal done with the Ravens or another team.''

Jackson has asked for a trade while opting not to sign the franchise tag offer that Baltimore has put before him.

Rosenhaus has indeed been winning at the negotiating table for a long time. Most notably and most recently, he forged the highest contract for a wide receiver in NFL history with a four-year, $120 million deal for Tyreek Hill with the Miami Dolphins.

Jackson's conflicts with the club have resulted in accusations back and forth. Those have been the sort of issues that have grabbed the headlines. And all of them have complicated the issue.

Is Lamar "wrong'' for not working under the guidance of an agent? Many think so. But while that debate rages on, amid Rosenhaus' unprovable claim, this fact is beyond debate: Whatever the Ravens and Lamar Jackson are doing now is not working.
