Derek Carr is back the Saints facility on Thursday, according to NewOrleans.Football's Nick Underhill. Carr and several of the team's brass reportedly had dinner last night at Ralph's on the Park, which included Dennis Allen and Pete Carmichael. Underhill notes that dinner lasted until 10:30 p.m.

The visit was said to be exploratory, and things apparently went really well during their meeting. The Saints are the only team who has met with Carr currently, and time is somewhat of the essence for the Raiders. If Carr is not traded or released three days after the Super Bowl, Las Vegas will owe him north of $40 million in guarantees over the next two years.

Compensation is reportedly not high to acquire Carr, as some across the league have stated that it could only cost New Orleans a third-round pick. The biggest question is how they would fit him in for the salary cap and what that would look like. We'll obviously keep close tabs on it, as the Saints could address their biggest question mark of the offseason sooner rather than later.

UPDATE: As of Thursday evening, Carr's visit is over with the Saints. He and his wife were both in attendance. NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported that the Raiders and Saints have the framework of a trade in place.
