Seahawks New Win Totals Brings New Expectations

Have the Seattle Seahawks done enough this offseason to make it back to the NFL playoffs next season?
In this story:

The Seattle Seahawks are about two weeks away from the NFL Draft, the final stage of roster acquisition this offseason before the league transitions into workouts as players and coaches begin preseason preparations.

After putting together a playoff run even in the first year without quarterback Russell Wilson, it is fair to say that the Seahawks overachieved in relation to the preseason projections. With that surprise in mind, the win totals for the upcoming season have seen the expectations rise for the Seahawks.

DraftKings Sportsbook set the over/under on the win total for Seattle at 8.5 games, an improvement from last offseason when they were at 5.5 wins. The Seahawks delivered on the over, winning nine games and making the playoffs in the process. Now can they do it again?

That is the major question that will be asked in the build-up to the regular season. So far, Seattle has made moves to improve, overhauling its defensive front seven, signing inside linebackers Devin Bush and the returning Bobby Wagner while adding defensive end Dre'Mont Jones and defensive tackle Jarran Reed.

All of those moves upfront were to help further the transition to defensive coordinator Clint Hurtt's 3-4 system.

But as general manager John Schneider and head coach Pete Carroll said, they are still looking to improve defensively

A true expectation of next year can't be set until the offseason winds down. Until then, the Seahawks could be expected to make the necessary moves that keeps them within range of reaching a 10-win season.
