Seahawks 7-Round Mock Draft: Seattle Sizes Up

The Seattle Seahawks need an edge rusher and in a recent mock draft they go get him in Texas Tech's Tyree Wilson.
In this story:

While the NFL was busy still buzzing about the Russell Wilson trade last Spring, the Seattle Seahawks went out and had perhaps the best draft in the league.

Now armed with draft ammunition thanks to Wilson, can general manager John Schneider duplicate that success in this month's draft?

In 2022 the Seahawks drafted a Pro Bowl cornerback (Tariq Woolen), a starting running back (Kenneth Walker III) and two rising offensive tackles (Charles Cross and Abraham Lucas). Starting April 27, they will be primed for more success with four picks in the top 52 - their own at 20 and 52, and two from the Broncos' trade at 5 and 37.

Though they added young talent, discovered a franchise quarterback in Geno Smith and made the playoffs, the Seahawks still have holes to fill. They could use a defensive lineman (edge rusher), a receiver and a tight end. Maybe even another quarterback?

In CBS Sports' latest seven-round mock draft, Seattle addresses those needs and more. A look at the picks:

Round 1 (5) - Tyree Wilson, DE, Texas Tech.

Round 1 (20): Peter Skoronski, OL, Northwestern

Round 2 (37): Mazi Smith, DT, Michigan

Round 2 (52): Josh Downs, WR, North Carolina

Round 3 (83): Daiyan Henley, LB, Washington State

Round 4 (123): Jakorian Bennett, CB, Maryland

Round 5 (151): Tyjae Spears, RB, Tulane

Round 5 (154): Jon Gaines II, OL, UCLA

Round 6 (198): Jalen Redmond, DL, Oklahoma

Round 7 (237): Davis Allen, TE, Clemson
