Seahawks WR Jake Bobo Becoming 'Fan Favorite': 'More Bobo!'
The Seattle Seahawks got their first glimpse of several players vying for a spot on the 53-man roster during their 24-13 victory over the Minnesota Vikings in Thursday night's preseason opener at Lumen Field.
Among those players was undrafted receiver Jake Bobo, who made an excellent initial impression with the Seahawks. In his first game with the team, he caught three passes for 55 yards, including a 19-yard touchdown that put the Seahawks up 17-13 with three seconds remaining in the third quarter.
While his go-ahead touchdown helped boost his popularity among Seahawks fans, quarterback Drew Lock revealed after Thursday's win that Bobo has already become a fan favorite inside the team's locker room.
"Yeah, shoot, a lot. He's been a fan favorite in the locker room, for sure," Lock said. "'More Bobo' is the thing we like to say in the locker room. Get Bobo the ball," Lock said.
Additionally, Lock praised Bobo for the strong work ethic he has demonstrated during his brief time with the Seahawks.
"He does everything right, man. He works really, really hard. I know when you throw a rookie out there, you get zero MEs (mental errors) in practices. I'm not saying he's going to do zero the whole time, but he does the right thing. He's in the right spots, knows his job, his assignment. That's all you can ask for. His physical ability will take care of everything else," Lock said.
As the Seahawks prepare to host the Dallas Cowboys on Saturday, followed by a matchup at Lambeau Field against the Green Bay Packers on Aug. 26th, the remaining preseason games will be of significant importance for Bobo. These matchups offer him an opportunity to demonstrate that he deserves a spot on the Seahawks' 53-man roster if he can sustain the level of play he showcased on Thursday night.
