Seahawks QB Geno Smith Shuts Down Joining Netflix's 'Quarterback'
Unless you've been living a rock under the last few weeks, then you've seen Netflix's Quarterback series take the internet by storm. The series offers fans an inside glimpse at the life of three NFL quarterbacks - Patrick Mahomes, Kirk Cousins and Marcus Mariota.
It was an instant success, with fans loving the opportunity to get a more personal and intimate look at what some of the league's premier signal-callers do in their day-to-day lives.
Fans weren't the only ones who loved the series, though, with Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith praising the show on Thursday after training camp.
“I thought it was cool, I thought all the guys did a great job; I was happy more people got insight into the life of a quarterback and our jobs,” Smith said. “This is a hard job, but if you don’t see what we do it gets taken for granted.”
His praise, of course, led to an obvious question - will Smith himself be on the show for season two?
“No, I’m not," Smith said, putting to rest any future speculation that he might be participating.
Smith isn't the only quarterback to come out and state lack of interest in being on the show, as the Seahawks' quarterback joins Miami's Tua Tagovailoa, Philadelphia's Jalen Hurts and Dallas' Dak Prescott.
While it would undoubtedly be interesting to see Smith's day-to-day, it's clear he would rather focus on winning games and bringing a Super Bowl back to Seattle.
