Seattle Seahawks vs. Dallas Cowboys Preview: NFC Playoff Gauntlet Continues
In this story:

Clinging onto the final wild card spot in the NFC, the Seattle Seahawks hit the road to face the Dallas Cowboys in an NFC showdown in prime time on Thursday night.

This marks just the second of four brutally tough games for the Seahawks during the most difficult stretch of their season. After losing 31-13 to the San Francisco 49ers (8-3) on Thanksgiving, the Seahawks will now play at Dallas (8-3), at the Niners and will then host the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 15, who are currently an NFL-best 10-1.

The Seahawks are desperate to snap a two-game losing streak. Seattle also has the chance to end the Cowboys' 13-game home winning streak at AT&T Stadium, the longest active streak in the NFL.

This season, Dallas has been dominating at home to become the first team in NFL history to win each of their first five home games by 20-plus points.

On Thanksgiving, Dallas gobbled up the Washington Commanders, 45-10, highlighted by cornerback DaRon Bland setting the NFL record with his fifth pick-six of the season.

Ahead of Thursday's game, Seattle receiver D.K. Metcalf previewed the matchup with Bland while cracking a joke at his own expense.

"I was thinking like 'he's got more touchdowns than me,'" Metcalf told reporters Sunday. "He does what the receivers should do and that’s shave angles and meet the ball, he does an exceptional job at that and it’s rare that you see a cornerback be able to track the ball and catch the ball like he does, he does it effortlessly.

Metcalf has three touchdowns on the season while Bland has five as a defensive player.

The Seahawks were unable to overcome a sloppy start against the 49ers on Thanksgiving. Seattle allowed six sacks, which was the most in a game this season.

This week, Seattle faces the tough task of protecting quarterback Geno Smith from Cowboys star Micah Parsons and the defense
