Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Cade Johnson is feeling better after he sustained a concussion during Thursday night's preseason game against the Minnesota Vikings.

Johnson's injury resulted in him being taken off the field on a stretcher before he was transported to Seattle's Harborview Medical Center for further evaluation. Coach Pete Carroll says that Johnson remains in the concussion protocol.

“He’s doing much better,” Carroll told reporters. “He had no indications of anything beyond the concussion he had, which is a serious injury, but he’s ok. He’s fine.”

And what does the player himself say? "Thanks for all the Prayers," Johnson tweeted.

Johnson spent the 2021 season on the Seahawks practice squad but found a little bit of playing time in 2022. Last season, appearing in three regular season games, Johnson caught two balls on four targets for 21 yards. He made a slightly larger impact in the playoffs, appearing in one game and catching three passes for 39 yards.

Johnson came into the 2021 NFL Draft season as a dark horse FCS prospect who could make an impact in the NFL. He put up video game numbers in 2019 at South Dakota State, with 1,222 receiving yards and eight touchdowns as a junior. After the 2020 FCS season got torpedoed due to COVID, Johnson sought to play for a Power 5 team.

Ultimately, he decided to prep for the NFL Draft and most pundits had him as a mid-day three selection. However, he ended up going undrafted and signing with Seattle ahead of the 2021 season. He brought some speed and agility to the table, with some ability in the return game as well.
