Arthur Maulet Seeking Revenge on Steelers

The former Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback will get his first shot in Week 5.
In this story:

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers and Arthur Maulet parted ways late into free agency, letting the 30-year-old veteran seek a new home for his seventh NFL season. That new home turned out to be the Baltimore Ravens, who Maulet is excited to play for - and is giving him two chances to seek revenge on his former team.

Maulet's time in Pittsburgh came to a close after two seasons due to a contract dispute, which led to Maulet asking for his release. He spoke with Ravens.com about that decision and his new home in Baltimore and how the Ravens valued him at a level he was looking for.

"I’m a vet, year No. 7," Maulet said. "I just wanted a little something, a little security. I think I earned that. Baltimore gave me that, which was surprising that it was a rivalry team. Obviously, they believe in me. That just makes me feel good about the work I put in this offseason."

Maulet will return to Acrisure Stadium for the first time in Week 5 when the Steelers host the Ravens. He'll then welcome Pittsburgh to town in Week 18, which could be a pivotal matchup.

"It’s circled on my calendar for sure," Maulet said on his first game against the Steelers.

Pittsburgh will turn to Chandon Sullivan and Elijah Riley at nickelback this season as they replace Maulet. Riley spent most of last season on the team's practice squad, but had impressed during training camp and the preseason. Sullivan brings 30 games of starting experience and outside capabilities to the Steelers secondary.
