PITTSBURGH -- The Los Angeles Chargers have claimed former Pittsburgh Steelers inside linebacker Tanner Muse, who was part of the team's final roster cuts as they trimmed their team to 53 players.

Muse spent the summer in Pittsburgh after signing with the Steelers in free agency. He was competing with Nick Kwiatkoski for most of the preseason for the team's final inside linebacker spot, but ended up cut after they decided to just keep four - Kwon Alexander, Cole Holcomb, Elandon Roberts, and Mark Robinson.

Muse heads to Los Angeles with plenty of special teams potential and 23 games of NFL experience.

Muse was originally a third-round pick for the Las Vegas Raiders but never played a regular season game for them. He spent two seasons in Seattle with the Seahawks before ending up in Pittsburgh for a summer.

The Steelers are expected to bring back Nick Kwiatkoski for their practice squad.
