Chiefs Sign Former Steelers QB
PITTSBURGH -- After back-to-back Super Bowl runs, the Kanas City Chiefs are bringing back former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Chris Oladokun for a third year, signing him to a future/reserve contract, according to KPRC2's Aaron Wilson.
Oladokun was the Steelers seventh-round draft pick in 2022 but never made the roster his rookie season. He was never really given an opportunity to compete for a roster spot after the team re-signed Mason Rudolph prior to OTAs. Once Rudolph, Kenny Pickett and Mitch Trubisky were in the room, it seemed pre-determined who Pittsburgh was going to keep as their quarterbacks.
After being released during roster cuts, Oladokun signed to the Chiefs practice squad, where he's now won two Super Bowls.
The former Steelers draft pick joins defensive tackle Isaiah Buggs as for members of Pittsburgh's roster now working in Kansas City. Both Oladokun and Buggs won Super Bowl LVIII while on the Chiefs' practice squad, and will look to earn their place onto the roster in 2024.
