George Pickens, Joey Porter Jr. Get Physical at Steelers Practice
LATROBE-- The highlight of Day 2 of Pittsburgh Steelers training camp was easily George Pickens and Joey Porter Jr. going at it during a 7-on-7 rep at Saint Vincent College.
The first-round rookie lined up on the left side as the starting cornerback and starred down second-year wideout Pickens across from him. The two locked arms as Porter tried to press and Pickens tried to create separation for a "hank" route (resembling a comeback).
After a shove from Pickens, Porter went to the ground and the Steelers' star wideout came back for the reception from Kenny Pickett - sparking the crowd in Latrobe.
During the rep, Porter's chain was ripped off by Pickens. The two didn't have any other noticeable plays the rest of the day, but the battle during their one-on-one rep caught everyone's attention.
The Steelers are looking for physical play out of their rookie corner, and haven't been shy about putting him up against their best receivers in Pickens, Allen Robinson and Diontae Johnson.
With high expectations for both players, it'll be a fun camp to watch as the two second-round picks battle it out.
