PITTSBURGH — Kenny Pickett is officially on his way to the Philadelphia Eagles, but despite a rough ending to his time with the Pittsburgh Steelers, he made sure to say goodbye as he departs.

The Steelers moved on from the former first-round pick after just two seasons, sending him and a fourth-round draft pick to the Eagles in exchange for a third-round pick this year and two sixth-round picks next year.

After the move became official, Pickett posted his goodbye on Instagram, thanking the city and the fans.

"Thank you, Pittsburgh! I came to this city 7 years ago and my life changed forever," Pickett wrote. Grateful for all of the amazing people I was fortunate enough to cross paths with, and for all of those who supported me along the way. I made life-long friendships and relationships that I will always cherish. Now, I am honored and excited for the next opportunity in my career - being able to play for the team that helped me find my love for the game as a kid. Go Birds!! 🦅"

Pickett finished his time in Pittsburgh with a 14-10 record in the NFL and a lifelong legacy at the University of Pittsburgh, winning an ACC Championship and breaking several records.

The Steelers now move on to Russell Wilson and Justin Fields in their quarterback room, looking at a complete change from their group a year ago.

Pickett heads to Philly, where he’ll be viewed as the backup to Jalen Hurts.
