NFL Hits Steelers Defense With Multiple Fines
PITTSBURGH -- The NFL has hit the Pittsburgh Steelers defense with two more fines from last weekend, penalizing inside linebacker Elandon Roberts and safety Miles Killebrew for their actions in Week 13 against the Arizona Cardinals.
Roberts was fined $21,855 for a hit he put on Cardinals running back Emari Demercado in the first quarter of the game. He was called for unnecessary roughness on the field, and will now pay a hefty fine for the penalty.
Demercado remained down after the play and left the game with a neck injury.
Killebrew was fined $10,297 for unnecessary roughness in the fourth quarter. The special teams captain was flagged three times during the game, with one of them resulting in a fine. The penalty comes from a facemask on Cardinals punt returner Greg Dortch.
The Steelers got some positive news regarding their large amount of fines this season after running back Jaylen Warren had one of his $48,556 fines rescinded after appealing it. Still, overall, Pittsburgh has collected a significant amount of fines this season, totaling nearly $400,000 through 13 weeks.
