Steelers Punter Pressley Harvin Injured After Historic Game
PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh Steelers punter Pressley Harvin had the best game of his career in Week 3 against the Las Vegas Raiders, but the third-year special teamer is now dealing with a hamstring injury that could keep him sidelined.
Head coach Mike Tomlin said the Steelers left Vegas with three injuries, one to guard James Daniels, another to wide receiver Allen Robinson and Harvin. All three will be monitored throughout the practice week, but the outlook for Week 4 in Houston is unknown.
Harvin has punted 19 times in three games this season. Over the last two weeks, he's taken his play to a new level with Week 3 being the best of his career, averaging 52.4 yards per punt and landing one inside the 20-yard line at the end of the game that was muffed by the Raiders.
His 52.4 average was the second-best in Steelers history, only missing Bobby Walden of 54.0 yards per punt in 1970.
The Steelers currently don't have another punter on the roster or practice squad. They did recently workout their former player Brad Wing prior to Week 2.
