Steelers Add Nine Players to Practice Squad
PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers have begun accumulating their practice squad, announcing the additions of nine players as they work through free agents to fill their 16-player unit.
The team stayed in-house for most of their signings, bringing back eight players from their 90-man roster to fill their practice squad. Those names are highlighted by players such as Breiden Fehoko and Trenton Thompson, who both made noise during the summer.
They also kept undrafted rookie David Perales and XFL star Luq Barcoo.
So far, the Steelers have signed the following players to their practice squad:
- Breiden Fehoko, DT
- Dez Fitzpatrick, WR
- Rodney Williams, TE
- Luq Barcoo, CB
- Anthony Brown, CB
- David Perales, LB
- Greg Bell, RB
- Trenton Thompson, DB
- Jonathan Marshall, DT
The Steelers went outside the team for just one signing so far, adding former Dallas Cowboys cornerback Anthony Brown. Brown spent the 2016-2022 seasons in Dallas, playing 94 games, including 69 starts, and recording nine interceptions and 59 pass deflections.
He started 12 games for the Cowboys last season.
The addition of nine players means Pittsburgh has seven more players to add before they finalize their practice squad.
