The Pittsburgh Steelers are beginning to fill their practice squad.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers are signing two players to their roster as they accumulate their 16-person practice squad. So far, the team has added defensive tackle Breiden Fehoko and offensive lineman Kellen Diesch, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.

Fehoko spent the summer with the Steelers after signing during free agency. He was in a tight competition with Armon Watts and Montravius Adams for the final roster spot, but ended up as the odd man out during the final round of cuts.

He'll return to Pittsburgh as a practice squad member.

Diesch spent time with the Chicago Bears during training camp before being cut. The former undrafted free agent out of Arizona State initially signed with the Miami Dolphins in 2022 but was cut before the regular season and ended up on the Bears practice squad.

The Steelers have 14 more spots to fill before they finalize their 2023 practice squad. They're capable of adding six vetted veteran players to the group, meaning players who did not need to clear waivers due to time spent in the league.
