Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger's Hall of Fame Status in Question - C’mon

We're really wondering when Pittsburgh Steelers great Ben Roethlisberger gets into the Hall of Fame?
In this story:

PITTSBURGH -- Ben Roethlisberger is a Hall of Famer. And even outside of the Pittsburgh Steelers fanbase and organization, most who have watched the former quarterback would argue he's a first-ballot.

Really, all who have watched.

In a recent list released by the 33rd Team, Roethlisberger is one of three former Steelers who could be headed to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The other two, Maurkice Pouncey and Antonio Brown were named "likely' inductees, while Roethlisberger is considered a "lock" for Canton, Ohio.

"Two Super Bowl wins, a third trip and a career that went from superb — the first quarterback to win Offensive Rookie of the Year (2004) since 1970 — to troubled to once again superb marks Big Ben as a Canton cinch," the 33rd Team writes.

Then, this tweet came out.

While random Twitter accounts shouldn't hold any ground in the NFL debate world, JPAFootball has 147,000 followers, so a question about the Hall of Fame surely sparked a conversation. Luckily, the responses were mostly positive, with many agreeing it's an easy "true."

Why Roethlisberger's Hall of Fame status is being questioned, we're not sure. But if everyone is talking about it, All Steelers should too, right?

My Take:

It's simple. Ben Roethlisberger has been a first-ballot Hall of Famer for some time. It didn't end with a Super Bowl run that put him at the top of the league, or magical numbers in his final few years that make him a worthy candidate for enshrinement. Years before Big Ben hung up his jersey for the final time, he was a Hall of Famer.

He finished his career with two Super Bowl rings, six Pro Bowls, a 13-10 playoff record and 53 game-winning drives. He played 18 seasons in the NFL and never had a losing record.

"I remember telling a well-known national columnist years ago that Ben Roethlisberger not only would reach Canton one day but would be a first-ballot choice," Clark Judge, senior writer for the 33rd team said in the article above. "He laughed and said it wouldn’t happen. I think it will: Roethlisberger didn’t put up a lot of gaudy numbers like some of his peers, but he won twice as many games as he lost (165-81-1) and delivered two more Lombardi Trophies to Pittsburgh. That’s good enough for me. Check, please."

Big Ben was a winner in a sport where nothing else matters. Tom Brady isn't the GOAT because he had the greatest arm or made the best throws. He's the GOAT because no one in football history won like he did.

During Roethlisberger's time, Brady was the only one who won more than he did. And when his name is up for the Hall of Fame, the voters won't forget that.

Ben Roethlisberger is a first-ballot Hall of Famer, and there's really no question about it.
