PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers Wild Card is expected to stay in it's current time slot, slated to begin at 4:30 p.m. ET on Monday, January 14. Despite continued snow in the Buffalo area, the NFL is confident the game will not be postponed a second time.

New York Governor Kathy Hochul said during a press conference that expectation for kickoff is weather in the teens with a wind chill near zero degrees. However, by gametime, weather conditions should no longer be life-threatening.

"I’m not saying it’s going to be pleasant, but conditions won’t be life threatening," Hochul said.

Orchard Park has received roughly four to six inches of snow per hour over the last 24 hours and is expected to continue receiving one to three inches of snow per hour overnight.

WIVB's Josh Reed reported an NFL spokesperson confirmed, "everything is moved forward as planned for Monday."

Erie county executive Mark Poloncarz also confirmed the game will be held as scheduled on Monday. Hochul confirmed that statement later in the press conference.

The Steelers were scheduled to leave Pittsburgh around 3 p.m. ET on Sunday to head to Buffalo. The city's Mayor, Byron Brown, announced they will be provided help from local officials to be escorted to their hotel upon arrival.
