Steelers Unaware of Location Change for Playoff Game
PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers Wild Card matchup with the Buffalo Bills is not believed to be a candidate for a location change. Despite reports claiming a location change could occur due to inclement weather, the team has not been informed of any consideration of a change.
KDKA Radio's Marty Griffin reported that the Steelers-Bills matchup could be moved from Orchard Park to Cleveland because of lake-effect snow headed toward Buffalo. In his report, he said fans should "be ready" for the move to happen.
However, according to a team spokesperson for the Steelers, the franchise has not heard of any potential change.
As of now, Orchard Park is expected to see anywhere from three to six inches of snow on game day. Depending on wind carry, that could increase, but there hasn't been any news of concern it could be detrimental enough to force the game to be changed or canceled.
Steelers players and coaches throughout the week have brushed off any potential weather concerns, stating both teams will need to "deal" with the same conditions.
The Steelers versus Bills matchup is scheduled for Sunday, January 14 at 1 p.m. ET.
