Steelers LB Suffers Foot Injury

The Pittsburgh Steelers defense took a blow against the Rams.

PITTSBURGH -- After their extensive injury list finally shrunk heading into Week 7, the Pittsburgh Steelers added another significant name, as inside linebacker Cole Holcomb went down against the Los Angeles Rams.

Holcomb stayed down on the field following a third down play in the second quarter against the Rams. After getting up on his own power, he was able to walk off with trainers and began to be evaluated on the sideline.

According to reports from the game, it appears trainers were tending to his foot/ankle.

Without Holcomb, the Steelers will lean on Kwon Alexander and Elandon Roberts at inside linebacker. Roberts has been used mostly as a run-stuffer this season, with Holcomb being the team's three-down inside backer.

Mark Robinson is also available off the bench. The second-year pro has only played four defensive snaps this season.

All Steelers will continue to provide updates on Holcomb's injury as more information becomes available.

UPDATE: Holcomb returned to the field.
