Steelers' Diontae Johnson, Minkah Fitzpatrick Separated After Heated Altercation

The Pittsburgh Steelers locker room got heated after the team's loss to the Browns.
In this story:

PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson reached some sort of boiling point in the team's Week 11 loss to the Cleveland Browns. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the star receiver got into a "heated" argument with safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, inside the locker room.

According to Schefter, the two needed to be separated by linebacker T.J. Watt and defensive captain Cam Heyward. After the altercation, the two defensive leaders gave a speech to the room about the team having to stick together.

"Johnson, the Steelers' second-leading receiver, continued 'chirping' at the coaches all the way into the locker room, where Fitzpatrick -- a three-time first-team All-Pro -- began arguing with Johnson," Schefter writes.

Things got messy for the Steelers after their fall to the Browns. After the game, running back Najee Harris paused, and then declined to comment on whether or not he believed everyone in the locker room was a team-oriented player. Two days later, Pittsburgh fired offensive coordinator Matt Canada.

According to Schefter, "It helped lead to Tomlin and the Steelers firing Canada on Tuesday."

With Eddie Faulkner taking over the offense, the Steelers are hoping for a new day inside the locker room - and on the field - and a change of attitude that brings everyone closer together moving forward.
