Steelers Fear Worst of Kwon Alexander Injury
PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers could lose another inside linebacker for extended time as Kwon Alexander is dealing with a “not promising” situation after leaving Week 10 with a leg injury.
Head coach Mike Tomlin described the injury as “serious,” leaving worry to when or if Alexander will return this season. This comes the week after the Steelers lose Cole Holcomb to a knee injury for the remainder of the season.
Alexander’s injury seemed to be non-contact after going down on the field and calling over trainers after trying to run back to the huddle.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the injury is believed to be a torn Achilles.
Pittsburgh is down to Elandon Roberts and Mark Robinson on their active roster. They elevated Tariq Carpenter for the Packers game and also have two former starters on their practice squad in Mykal Walker and Kyron Johnson.
This Steelers will wait for further testing to make final decisions on Alexander’s future. If they do need to place him on Injured Reserve, they’ll almost definitely sign at least one more player at the position.
