Steelers Finally Get to Unleash George Pickens

The Pittsburgh Steelers have a new WR1.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers will be without their leading wide receiver over the next few weeks as Diontae Johnson recovers from a hamstring injury. So, much earlier than expected, it's George Pickens' time to prove himself as the WR1.

The hype around Pickens is very warranted. The second-year wideout has a catch radius like the NFL has never seen before, and has already showcased a skillset that could make him a superstar in this league. But until now, he's never had the opportunity to do it all as the team's top option.

With Johnson down, Pickens can become the wideout he's said he could be. He believes he's the best in the NFL, and it's not hard to believe him, but he has to do more than just go routes.

Well, he's worked all summer to evolve his game, and without Johnson on the field, he'll be forced to put that work on display.

There's a new WR1 in Pittsburgh. It's George Pickens time.
