'Hell Yeah' Steelers Are Getting Diontae Johnson Back

The Pittsburgh Steelers are getting their top wide receiver back.

PITTSBURGH -- Right now, the plan for the Pittsburgh Steelers is to have wide receiver Diontae Johnson back on the field in Week 7 as he returns from Injured Reserve.

Johnson told reporters, "hell yeah," he's coming back once the team returns from the bye week, and that as of now, he's expecting to play against the Los Angeles Rams.

"Hell yeah I'm coming back," Johnson said. "I've been working my behind off these past three, four weeks. ... I feel completely great and healthy. I'm ready for Monday when we come back so I can get back to work."

Johnson hasn't played since Week 2 when he left with a hamstring injury that landed him on IR. He told All Steelers he feels back to 100% and should be a full-go when they return next week.

"The trainers, I appreciate them for pushing me through that whole process, keeping my head level. Not coming in here down," Johnson said. "I always had a positive attitude when I came in here and I was ready to work. Whatever they threw at me, I was going to do what I had to do to get it done."

As for the boost the Steelers offense will get from their returning wide receiver, Johnson sees a lot of promise in having a healthy wide receiver room for the second half of the season.

"It opens up the field more. Allows us to play more freely, because you can't double everybody," Johnson said. "Once you have me, [Allen Robinson], Kenny [Pickett] and [George Pickens] out there at the same time, you're guessing."

The Steelers do not play this weekend but will return to practice as normal next week. Running back Anthony McFarland and punter Pressley Harvin are also expected to return at that time.
