Steelers' Jaylen Warren, George Pickens Meet After Dramatic Week

The Pittsburgh Steelers offensive stars met to discuss the lack of effort incident that occurred last week.
In this story:

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers culture has been under a microscope as of late, and with wide receiver George Pickens taking plenty of heat for not blocking on a potential touchdown run, the story regarding their locker room camaraderie has taken a significant leap.

Luckily, on the inside, the team is sticking together. After Pickens was caught not blocking for Jaylen Warren against the Indianapolis Colts, Warren said he probably would've blocked if it was the other way around.

"Some people play the game differently," Warren told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. "If I was in that position, I would have blocked for him. But we play differently, so."

Why didn't Pickens block? He said he didn't want to get hurt

"I was just trying to prevent the Tank Dell situation, the same thing that happened to (him)," Pickens said. "I ain't want to get an injury. When you stay on the block too low, you can get ran up on very easily."

But the two have met and put any concerns to bed. During the latest episode of the Jaylen Warren Show, Warren said the two talked about the story being made bigger than they believe it is, and that they are on the same page moving forward.

"I don’t really get frustrated because it’s out of my control," Warren said. "Just thinking like that will pour more fuel on the fire. But yeah, we talked about how the media tries to bash us together and trying to create this whole scene. But it’s nothing like that. He understands my point of view, the team’s point of view. He understands what’s going on. Next time, he says that he’ll block (for me)."

The team as a whole have tried to move on from the narrative that players aren't giving their all on the field. And with a crucial game against the Cincinnati Bengals coming up, they'll be focused on what's to come in Week 16, not what happened in Week 15.
