Steelers Land Two Top Players in Latest Mock Draft
PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers are setting off into the offseason with their sights on multiple positions. Two holes they may have on their roster, though, could be filled in the 2024 NFL Draft.
In Pro Football Focus's latest two-round mock draft, the Steelers land star cornerback Quinyon Mitchell and center Zach Frazier with their first two picks.
"The Steelers got a good one in Joey Porter Jr. at the top of the second round last year, but their investment in cornerbacks must continue. Mitchell was dominant at the Senior Bowl. He is scheme-versatile in both skill and athleticism. He could easily be picked higher than this, but he will be high on Pittsburgh’s board if he makes it this far," PFF's Trevor Sikkema writes.
The Steelers land Mitchell with pick 20 after an impressive showing at the Senior Bowl. The team met with the Toledo star during their time in Mobile, Alabama, and after his dominant performance, he's probably climbing up draft boards.
With the 52nd pick, they take Frazier out of West Virginia.
Frazier is viewed as one of the top two centers in the NFL Draft, and could see himself as the first player picked within the position. The Steelers will need to make a decision at center with Mason Cole's contract expiring after the 2024 season.
Reports claim the Steelers "absolutely love" Frazier, making him a hot prospect for Pittsburgh. If he's still around in the second round, filling their center position makes plenty of sense.
