PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers added a new player to their injury report prior to their first preseason game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Defensive lineman Larry Ogunjobi had practiced all the way up through the end of the week but was not active for Week 1 of the preseason. Other veterans - T.J. Watt, Cam Heyward, Patrick Peterson and Minkah Fitzpatrick - sat as well but Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin revealed after the game that Ogunjobi had suffered an injury in the leadup to kickoff.

"We had a few guys that had minor injuries in the 11th hour in the leadup to participation," Tomlin said following the 27-17 win in Tampa. "We chose to exercise some caution and not allow them to participate."

Tomlin did not share what the nature of the injury was but said that Ogunjobi will be evaluated when the team returns to Pittsburgh and prepares for their first game at Acrisure Stadium against the Buffalo Bills next week.
