PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers' linebackers room continues to get thinner and thinner this week as injuries pile up.

The latest crushing blow came in the form of a pec injury to Elandon Roberts that knocked him out of last week's game against the Cincinnati Bengals. That same injury will keep him out in Week 17 as the Steelers travel to Seattle to face the Seahawks.

With Roberts sidelined this week, Tomlin said Blake Martinez will see more opportunities. Martinez has spent the past month with the Steelers as a member of the practice squad but has yet to appear in a game this season.

Veteran Myles Jack, who recorded six tackles and a sack in his first action of the season against the Bengals, will likely be called up from the practice squad again this week and see an uptick in his snap count has well.

Roberts has been credited by Tomwith playing a large part in keeping the defense whole, as he communicated and led at a high level following season-ending injuries to Cole Holcomb and Kwon Alexander.

To help their communication efforts, the Steelers are hoping that Minkah Fitzpatrick, who did not play against the Bengals with a knee injury, back this week. Fitzpatrick will start the week limited in practice with the possibility of returning to the field on Seattle open.
