PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers will begin preparation for the Cleveland Browns with six players set to miss time in different variations. Head coach Mike Tomlin confirmed six players will start the week as injured, with uncertainties on who will play in Week 2.

The Steelers have ruled out defensive tackle Cam Heyward (groin) and wide receiver Diontae Johnson (hamstring) for their Week 2 matchup. Heyward is set to undergo surgery and is expected to be placed on Injured Reserve, with his timeline starting at eight weeks before his return. Johnson is week-to-week but isn't anticipated to play against the Browns.

Tomlin said there are four players who will miss time early in the week, but is optimistic all four will play by game day. Those players are Chukwuma Okorafor (concussion), Pat Freiermuth (chest), James Daniels (foot/ankle) and Larry Ogunjobi (unknown).

The Steelers will have an extra day of preparation and to recover from injury, as they play Monday night against the Browns. They'll practice as normal, but utilize their extra day for a walk-through before facing their first AFC North opponent.
