Steelers TE Pat Freiermuth Suffers Knee Injury

The Pittsburgh Steelers offense will now monitor a critical injury.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers suffered a bit of a nerve-wracking injury as they start Week 16, with tight end Pat Freiermuth popping up on the practice report with a knee injury.

Freiermuth was a limited participant in practice, meaning the injury either held him back or occurred during the session. He was not mentioned by head coach Mike Tomlin during his rundown of this week's injuries.

The Steelers will have two more days of full practice and then a walk-through before they take on the Cincinnati Bengals. Freiermuth's availability during the next two practices will be crucial for his availability come gameday, and his health is certainly something to monitor for the team and the fanbase.

Without Freiermuth, the team would turn to Connor Heyward and Darnell Washington as their starters, with Rodney Williams as they depth piece.

Freiermuth has already missed time this season due to a hamstring injury.

The Steelers' final injury report will come out Thursday.

Pittsburgh remains in the playoff hunt but will need to get back to winning games if they want to keep those hopes alive in these last three weeks.
