Steelers Propose Trade Deadline Change
PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers have proposed a change to their NFL schedule, pushing back the trade deadline to after Week 9 instead of its typical date after Week 8.
According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the Steelers have proposed the move, pushing the deadline back one week from the Tuesday after Week 8 to the Tuesday after Week 9. This comes as the Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Commanders, New York Jets, Detroit Lions and Cleveland Browns proposed moving it to after Week 10.
The annual League Meetings are set to take place at the end of the month, where the Steelers' proposal will be discussed along with the rest of the proposed changes to the NFL system.
The deadline has been talked about for some time as the NFL season continues to expand. Now at 17 games played, it appears teams are looking to have more time to decide on in-season moves, with the Steelers leading the charge for a new date.
